Inside the health folder

A few things to cook, read and come back to. Meal ideas, mindfulness resources and a few questions I kept with them.

01 · For the kitchen

Tomorrow’s breakfast, considered.

Dr. Jo-Anne Mina at Dhaya Integrative Health sent me a 14-page handout with ideas for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. These four caught my attention.

Make ahead · Breakfast

Egg muffins

Eggs, spinach and grated carrot, with the option of making extra for another morning.

Prepare tonight · Breakfast

Nut-butter overnight oats

The handout linked to this five-ingredient recipe from Minimalist Baker.

Dinner idea

Rosemary chicken

A roast seasoned with rosemary and olive oil, paired in the handout with vegetables or salad.

Dinner idea

Cinnamon-spiced salmon

The pairing I read twice, with a suggested side of greens or mashed squash.

These are ideas from the handout, not a treatment for inflammation or a dietary plan for everyone. Use the linked author’s recipe for ingredients and cooking instructions.

02 · A little room

Five minutes is a place to start.

The follow-up email included two short guided meditations and a separate body-tapping video. These are the links I received in 2019.

03 · Something to read

Bring your attention back.

The mindfulness handout was a copy of Thich Nhat Hanh’s Five Steps to Mindfulness, published by Mindful. The original article is available to read online.

04 · The individual plan

A prescription has context.

Dr. Mina sent my supplement prescription separately through Fullscript. I kept it alongside the meal ideas and mindfulness resources, with questions to bring to our next conversation.
